Welcome to Valluvar Foundation for Sustainability, a beacon of hope established in 2015 by Mr. K. Senguttuvan, Chairman of Valluvar College of Science and Management Karur. Rooted in the heart of Karur, our foundation is committed to catalyzing positive change in rural communities, particularly in the Karur district. At Valluvar Foundation for Sustainability, we believe in the transformative power of financial stability and to contribute for nation building, by eradicating poverty among rural poor/ weaker sections and uplift them financially. To bring them under banking net work and make them avail various welfare Schemes of the government, particularly PRIME MINISTER’S JAN DHAN YOJANA, and DIGITAL BANKING through Financial Literacy Awareness Programmes.
To achieve our main vision, we have been conducting Financial Literacy Awareness programmes periodically and covered more than 70,000 needy population directly/indirectly, during past ten years. We follow dynamic and modern technology to boost our way of approach, like Short films, stage dramas and mediacoverage etc. Our programmes make them work hard, so as to save and enhance their standard of living. Lot of rural poor got benefited through government welfare schemes, particularly Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). Insurance and Pension schemes.
There is overall improvement in agriculture and allied activities and also self employment. We also conduct regular/periodical monitoring to keep the savings bank account active and to ensure all government welfare schemes reach needy population in full. By equipping people with the necessary skills and understanding, we strive to empower them to make informed financial decisions that can positively impact their lives and future generations. Simultaneously, public have been advised to follow moral ethics in all banking transactions, particularly for loans, by repaying them honestly.
School Students Savings Scheme, A unique/novel scheme, where we cultivate savings along with education to build financial confidence on young india. Under this programme, we have covered 28 schools and around 8000 students were helped to open savings bank accounts, by contributing the initial deposit of Rs.100/- from the Foundation. It has been designed that these savings habit will be highly helpful for higher studies /self employment.
